Original Vital Records of Middlefield, Massachusetts

These images were captured from 1980 era microfilm by the Northeast Document Conservation Center. There are 190 data pages with two additional birth index pages. There is also a partial birth index listing on page 1. The records run from the original town founding to after the State started collecting this information in 1841. I believe this original source material has never before been widely available.

There is page damage, mildew and image bleed-through evident on the digitized microfilm. The New England Historical and Genealogical Society published town records through 1850 were originally extracted from these documents about 1900. I have made them available here as transcription errors possibly exist.

The location of the original Congregational Church records is unknown. There is a safe in the church basement where the combination is not known. They are possibly there. Copies are available in the Berkshire Collection at the Pittsfield Athenaeum.

The following are links to the images. There are two pages per image.

Births (images 1-55), Marriages and Intentions (images 56-80). Deaths (images 81-87), Marriages (images 87-93), Church Certificates and Deaths (images 94-95).
